IT Support Specialist

We are looking to add an IT Support Specialist to our busy and innovative IT team.  This is a generalist position devoted to all aspects of computer set-up, installation, troubleshooting, service, upgrades, and maintenance.  This position also includes responsibility for handling how computers connect to the network; printing, both locally and on the network; and auxiliary devices such as tablets, PDAs, and smartphones. In this role, you’ll have the unique opportunity to showcase your technical skills but also work directly with personnel from all departments across the company offering advice, training, solutions and guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Network infrastructure-monitoring traffic, storage space, printers, connections to servers and switches.
  • Setting up new employee equipment (laptops, desktops, phones, door badges, etc.)
  • Manage Active Directory-create and manage user accounts, security groups, permissions and GPO
  • Manage local hosted Exchange server
  • Manage and configure web filter and firewall
  • IT inventory management, tracking and ordering assets (software, hardware, etc.)
  • Acts as the liaison with IT Managed Service Provider

 

Requirements

  • Technical skill and aptitude
  • 1-2 years of similar experience supporting an environment with at least 150 users or more
  • Excellent communication skills-must have the ability to work with employees across all levels of the organization, and build relationships with the C-suite to be their trusted IT adviser as it relates to desktop support and functionality.
  • Associates degree in computer science or related field or equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities acquired through working or professional certifications.
  • Strong preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with WMS, ERP and VOIP
  • Strong working knowledge of business applications including Microsoft Office and MAS or similar enterprise software
  • Familiar with basic networking principles, server operating systems, and environments.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information obtained during the course of performing job responsibilities
