Director, Showroom Design and Setup

Position Overview

Surya is seeking a dynamic, seasoned Director to lead the design, planning and setup of tradeshows and showrooms throughout the country.  The ideal candidate for this role is a rare mix of creative vision and analytical aptitude, coupled with strong process, project management and leadership skills.

The Showroom Director will lead the ideation and execution of visual merchandising strategies and showroom design to maximize sell-through, enhance brand positioning and provide a superlative buying experience for customers. He/she will spearhead ideas and collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive sales from showrooms.  


Responsibilities 

Partner with internal and external individuals to ensure successful layout development and implementation for all showrooms, including short duration tradeshow locations (High Point) and permanent showroom locations (Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago)

  • Coordinate planning, prepping and execution of set up/tear down for all tradeshows
  • Conceive, design and execute creative and compelling visual displays and merchandising concepts and continually improve the customer experience in the showroom
  • Leads planning process for each tradeshow including visual layout and product selection based on a sound understanding of financials ($/sqft) vs. aesthetic trade-offs
  • Work with Operations/Warehouse team to execute on showroom logistics and setup as well as manage staff while traveling
  • Analyze product sales in order to feature best-selling products; analyze sales information to decide which SKUS to include/remove from a showroom inventory
  • Determine visual elements such as paint colors/wallpaper, props and vignettes
  • Develop and source displays and fixtures to accommodate current or new inventory
  • Maintain showroom integrity and support sales team during open trade show hours
  • Assist with roll-out of new regional showrooms, including building out to brand and cost specifications


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Visual Merchandising, Design, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in showroom merchandising, management and setup
  • Background in the home furnishings industry preferred
  • Pro-active; able to figure things out with little direction
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Works effectively in high pressure situations
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking and organization skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel) and Adobe Creative Suites 
  • Knowledge of AutoCad and SketchUp preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the year including some required weekends
  • Position is based out of our corporate office just north of Cartersville
