Sales Manager

Surya is looking for a driven, analytical and sales-minded team player to lead a growing sales channel.  The Sales Manager will be accountable for achieving agreed-upon sales targets and growing Surya’s market share in the furniture, design, home décor and gift industry.  This individual will mentor, manage, and develop a team of outside sales professionals within the United States. The ideal candidate will be a go-getter who excels at building business relationships, identifying revenue opportunities, and working directly with sales teams and customers. The position requires a great deal of enthusiasm, energy, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES                          

  • Meet and exceed assigned sales targets and strategic objectives for the channel
  • Develop and execute individual sales targets for Sales Specialists and Account Managers that align with company goals
  • Assist in the development of sales plans, specifically advising on realistic forecasts for products, territories and accounts (based on historical data, market trends, competitive activity, etc.)
  • Increase market penetration and wallet share by developing targeted sales and marketing programs through analysis of product, price, promotion, and merchandising
  • Manage and evaluate the activities and effectiveness of the sales team on a consistent basis through salesforce.com
  • Develop and build relationships with key customers and prospects/leads
  • Oversee resolution of all customer issues promptly and effectively
  • Identify and propose new business and industry partnership opportunities
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels of Sales Specialists and Account Managers

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • 4+ years of management experience growing a sales team while significantly increasing revenue in a highly competitive market.
  • 4+ years of outside sales or business development experience with a proven track record of over-quota achievement
  • Experience in the home décor, design, furniture, or gift industry
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (80%)
  • Balance of customer-focused, strategic and analytical business acumen with an understanding of key performance indicators
  • Excellent organizational, communication, collaboration, and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong leadership and decision making skills
  • Ability to effectively negotiate with customers while also demonstrating positive relationship building skills
  • Proven talent development skills – ability to effectively coach and maximize your team’s efforts
  • Detail oriented, but big picture thinker
  • Position requires travel within the US 3-4 days per week and work in the corporate office in Cartersville 2 days per week. This is NOT a work from home position.
